What is Cumberland Health?
Cumberland Health is a telehealth app that lets patients in Kentucky connect with trusted medical providers from Cumberland Family Medical Center, Inc. using their phone or computer.
Who provides care through the app?
All care is provided by licensed medical providers who are employees of Cumberland Family Medical Center, Inc. Providers include doctors, nurse practitioners, and other qualified professionals licensed in Kentucky.
Is Cumberland Health for emergencies?
No. Cumberland Health is not for emergencies.
- If you have a medical emergency, call 911.
- If you are in emotional distress or thinking about harming yourself, call or text 988, the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.
Who can use Cumberland Health?
- Anyone over the age of 18, or minors who are under their guardians account.
- Adults can manage their own accounts.
- Children and minors can receive care through a parent or legal guardian–managed profile.
Can I add my child as a dependent?
Yes. Children may be added to a guardian-managed profile from birth and older.
The parent or legal guardian is responsible for medical information, consent, and payment.
What types of services are available?
Services are offered 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. These services include:
- General medical care
- Primary care
- Pediatrics
- Women’s health
- Behavioral health
Available services may vary based on medical need.
How do visits work?
Visits may take place by video, phone, or secure messaging, depending on your care needs. Your provider will review your information and recommend the appropriate care.
Can providers prescribe medication?
Yes. Providers may prescribe medications and approve refills when medically appropriate.
Prescribing is based on provider judgment and must follow state and federal laws. Some medications or conditions may require an in-person visit.
Prescriptions are not guaranteed.
How much does a Cumberland Health visit cost?
The cost of a visit may depend on your insurance coverage.
Cumberland Health accepts:
• Medicare
• Medicaid
• Most major insurance plans
If you do not use insurance, you may choose the self-pay option, which is:
• $40 per visit
• No subscriptions or monthly fees
Your exact cost may vary depending on your insurance benefits.
Is financial assistance available?
Yes. Cumberland Family Medical Center, Inc. offers a Sliding Fee Discount Program for patients who qualify based on household size and income.
Important to know:
• Sliding fee discounts are based on federal poverty guidelines
• Proof of income is required
• Eligibility is determined by CFMC staff
Patients who may qualify for financial assistance should contact their clinic or visit a CFMC location for help applying.
Is my health information protected?
Yes. Cumberland Health follows HIPAA and other privacy laws.

Will my information be shared?

Can I turn off notifications?
Yes.
- Push notifications can be turned on or off in your app or device settings.
- Text messages can be stopped by replying STOP.
No protected health information is included in notifications.
